after seeing the real thing. It really is just brilliant. You have mastered every detail. I can't thank you enough

Everything works fine on the AA battery power, and I have ran the drive for a total of something like 12-15 hours over about a half-dozen nights and the batteries are not drained. A very effecient motor!
I carefully leveled and polar aligned (using a magnetic compass and the appropriate offset for home) and the tracking is right on. I fiddled a little with the fine-tuning knob and have no trouble keeping an object in the field at over 150X for in excess of 30 minutes.
I am also impressed with the workmanship. Every thing is professional grade and the platform is something I would be proud of had I made it.
If it would matter, feel free to use my comments as endorsements as I would recommend your product to anyone.

I said I would get back to you after I had tried out my new platform. Well, all I can say is it's great! I think you're doing a tremendous service by making these platforms available at such a reasonable cost. The workmanship is 1st class, but more important, it actually tracks! Aside from my few comments in my last email forwarded here, I cannot imagine a better product for the money. I bet the $1,000 ones couldn't be much better.
I was able to put Jupiter in the center and return after 10 minutes of "oohs and ahhs" looking at Omega Centauri through big binos to find Jupiter pretty much where I left it. I was thrilled.
I look forward to many more nights of viewing pleasure thanks to your device. Once again, thank you and it was a pleasure doing business with you.
Clear skies, Paul Preto
The platfrom showed up Friday in great shape! Just set it up for the first time tonight. Works beautifully! I've never used a platform before. WOW! I can actually use some eps that I'd never have thought of using and pushing the scope.
_- I am absolutely pleased with the fine product you have sold me. It is smooth tracking with absolutely no vibrations that I can see even at 400X It was simple to set up and took only a minute to dial in the speed. Thanx for a quality product at an affordable price. Hope you sell many more, Dave Hurst
Just wanted to let you know that I had the scope out last night for a test run on your platform and I am happy to report that the tracking was excellent. Everything worked the way it should and I am very pleased with your product. I think it is a real bargain and would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone.

I got a chance to use the platform with my 16" Meade the night of the 3rd at a star party in the Mojave. Mine was the only scope big enough to see the comet and so thank goodness I had the platform. It performed flawlessly and so a lot of people got to see the faint little thing. I was able to observe the very slight brightening of the pseudo nucleus and so it was a succes for me.
Thanks again,
Keith Eisler
I just got the platform last night, and it is a beauty! I put down some no-skid rubber temporarily just to test it out, and it held Mars to around
6-8 arcmin of drift after 15 minutes (only about 1/4 of the FOV of my 7mm Nagler at 215x) even with just a rough alignment and a slight nudge faster on the speed of the motor. The motion was smooth and vibration free, and the scope damps quickly when bumped. The extra 5" of height also makes observing at low angles MUCH more comfortable.
I'm very happy with my purchase, and I'll definitely recommend you to anyone local looking to add tracking to their dobs.
Thanks,
Chris Hendren
My 14.5" Teleport is unbelievably stable on the platform, I'll have to get it outside to see how it stands up to star hopping but I don't think there will be any issues it really does feel solid and stable whilst manually slewing. There is no sign of slippage or anything, I have run it through the most extreme of angles and with a layer of grip-mat under the scope it doesn't budge an inch. The platform and scope look made for each other, the black finish complements the scope perfectly (and at a fraction of the cost of another manufacturers Teleport specific platform!!!).
At this stage all I can say is thanks and job well done. I'm no woodworker but the craftsmanship certainly hits the mark, a very professional finish. I'll let you know how I get on over the next few nights with both visual and video observing.
Thanks again for all your advice and additional efforts with the design etc. its an exceptional piece of kit I'm really proud to be an owner of one of your platforms.

I have only had one clear night since it arrived but just putting the platform down aligned with the compass and level it worked great. I tend to be impatient with new kit so I skipped over the stage of setting the speed using a star I just went straight to Mars (at 330x) with the speed dial in the middle and adjusted as required. It only took a couple of adjustments to get it setup well enough for a first nights trial.
Using the Stellacam EX worked perfectly. I can use the full capabilities of the camera (128x frame stacking) to get really great views of DSO's without any smearing. Even with my very rough setup on that first night keeping M57 on the chip was a breeze I just slewed the scope to it, replaced the eyepiece for the camera and that was that.
I've also taken a tip from the website and mounted a tripod on the platform with my 50mm H-alpha scope which makes imaging the sun much easier. I used to have to setup my EQ mount which takes 20 minutes or so, the platform takes 2 minutes.

I have found my Round Table Platform to be exactly what was promised.
Good quality, accurate mechanics, fast setup, and a speedy delivery.
Brian has been excellent to work with. perhaps the most significant testimony is that adding tracking to my setup allows me to see more detail then I have before because I don't worry about drift. The object simply hangs there in the center of the eyepiece and I just soak up the details of the view. Also, for the first time, I'm able to take pictures through my scope and preserve the memories of what I observe.
Thanks again Brian. I am totally pleased with this set up.
